Freelance German/English translator, editor, proofreader, and English teacher. Native language American English, excellent knowledge of British English forms. Fluent in High German, excellent understanding of Swiss German. Can do simultaneous oral translation from German into English.

2005 - present, completed many translation projects from German into English, including texts, correspondence, screenplays, fiction, film subtitles, web sites, and CVs, for both private and corporate clients, including FAMA Films, Fifty/Fifty Film, FX Trading 24, and the Zurich Forensic Institute.

1993 - 1996, was an Associate Instructor, Centre for English Language Training, Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. Prepared intermediate and advanced adult ESL learners for study at American universities. Taught all language skills, with emphasis on writing, standardized test preparation, and computer skills. Coordinated other instructors and was responsible for evaluating students’ progress at the end of each session.

1992 - 1993, worked as an English Teacher at Hull's School of Modern Languages, Zurich, Switzerland. Taught all levels of English as a second language to adults in groups, as well as private classes. Taught general English skills as well as certificate preparation classes.

1992, was the Executive Secretary at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zurich, Switzerland. Member of secretarial staff of the President of the ETHZ. Did general office duties including correspondence in English and German.

1991 - 1992, was assistant English Teacher at Bundesgymnasium, Feldkirch, Austria. Assisted regular English teachers in ESL classes for intermediate to advanced learners aged 14 to 18.
